Discover the merriment
Celebrate the magic of community, joy and winter wonder at Alamar’s annual holiday event. Join with family and neighbors at Hay Moon Park on Dec. 8 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. to experience sights and delights of your favorite holiday traditions.
Here’s what you’ll experience:
- Capture the joy on children’s faces as they meet jolly ol’ Santa Clause with a keepsake photo.
- Pose with family and friends for selfies in our holiday photo booth.
- Write letters to Santa with your wishes, hopes, and dreams and mail them to Santa’s workshop in the North Pole.
- Create wintery-themed crafts to take home or to gift.
- Join in the reindeer games, sure to spark laughter and cheer.
- Feel the warmth of the season by toasty fire pits and roast marshmallows for the perfect s’more.
- Decorate — then eat — your own holiday cookie with frosting and sprinkles.
Prepare to embrace the season of magic and register your household by Dec. 3.
Magical memories
Santa’s workshop is open and you’re invited to help make this holiday special for all children in Alamar. The Real Homemakers of Alamar are hosting a toy drive to collect new, unwrapped toys for ages 0-16. Elves will wrap the toys and hand out at the Winter Wonderland on Dec. 8.
Parents, you’ll need to let Santa’s helpers know who to expect at the holiday event. Email the elves with your full name, address, and ages of children in your home.
Ways to donate:
- Drop off new, unwrapped toys to the Wolf’s Den at Haymoon Pool Friday through Sunday from 12 to 8 pm.
- Amazon gift cards and Zelle donations are accepted for toys, wrapping paper, tape and ribbon. Email resident-leader, Navy for more information.
Holiday lights contest
Deck the halls – and walls – with your best holiday light display. Whether it’s a classic winter wonderland theme or vibrant display of seasonal sights, we invite you to enter the holiday home decorating contest.
Prizes for first, second, and third place winners will be awarded. Plus, you’ll get a sign to place in your yard for bragging rights.
Dust off your decorations, untangle the lights and get ready to illuminate your home. Deadline to enter is Dec. 5. Judging will be held Dec. 8 – 12. Winners will be announced Dec. 15.

Create the magic
We’re looking for neighborhood elves to lend a hand in creating a magical holiday experience for guests. Help spread the joy of the season by signing up to volunteer at the event. We’ll need extra hands for set-up, event stations, clean-up.
Promote your business
Business owners are welcome to help spread holiday cheer at our event. There is no fee to participate, we just ask that you provide candy, an activity or craft, or a fun game for attendees. You’ll also need to provide your own tent, table, and chairs.
