Opportunities to give back in the community
“Nothing liberates greatness like the desire to help, the desire to serve.” -Marianne Williamson
When neighbors come together to support a cause, that’s where true teamwork happens, strong bonds are forged, and the satisfaction of doing good for others elevates the entire community. No doubt, giving back is good for the soul and great for building community, and volunteerism and philanthropy are important values in Alamar.
As our community grows, so do the opportunities for residents to participate in community-wide and resident-led give-back initiatives. Here are a few ways to serve alongside your neighbors right now.
Alamar Welcome Team
When you’re new to the neighborhood, a warm welcome can make all the difference. That’s why a friendly group of Alamar residents regularly reaches out to their newest neighbors with a warm smile, a welcome gift, and important information to help ensure a smooth transition into our community.
Send a note over to alamar@coherelife.com if you’d also like to join the team.
RESIDENT-LED CLUBS
Magic happens when neighbors connect over shared interests, and odds are pretty good that there are neighbors in Alamar who enjoy the same things you do. From book lovers to sports aficionados, whatever your passion, the Alamar Community Life team can help you build a community around it.
Check out the list of resident-led clubs, and if you don’t see one that strikes your fancy, you can submit a club application to get your own group going.
Park Leader Program
Alamar’s neighborhood parks are points of pride, places to gather, and natural landmarks to indicate what area of the neighborhood residents call home. Neighbors who have a knack for bringing people together, organizing social events, and serving as ambassadors for their community can step in to serve as park leaders for their part of the neighborhood.
If this sounds like your jam, let us know at alamar@coherelife.com.
LOCAL SCHOOLS
There are opportunities throughout the year to support the local schools in and around Alamar through tutoring, supply donations, and volunteering at school events.
TRES RIOS
The Tres Rios Environmental Restoration project is rehabilitating close to 700 acres in and around the Salt River (including a few miles away from Alamar), restoring a vital wetland and riparian habitat.
Do-good residents can roll up their sleeves and meet up the third Saturday of every other month to help clean and heal the Tres Rios Wetlands and the Base and Meridian Wildlife Area.
Coordiante a Service Activity
Are you passionate about a local organization and want to rally neighbors to get involved?
Activities can be one-time projects (such as participating in a run/walk fundraising event) or ongoing opportunities (such as packing food at a food bank). It’s a great way to get involved if you know a service or organization that needs volunteers.
Drop us a line, we’d love to hear about it.
